What We Do

Based in Seattle, Washington, NSLI has launched a fully-funded Pilot Program in Sweden, providing rising leaders a unique opportunity to explore the Nordic model firsthand.

A Call for New Leaders

The U.S. features declining social and economic mobility, rising social tension and declining trust in government and public leaders.

Global challenges – economic transitions, resource constraints, geopolitical instability – intensify these strains and diminish our positive impacts.

Serious leaders must ask:
How do I lead in a divided world? When do I react or be proactive? Which stakeholders do I prioritize? Where can I learn leadership skills for an uncertain future?

The Nordics are an ideal context in which to train essential leaders for the 21st century - in sustainability, innovation, collaboration, transparency and equity. Smart leaders study successful models- like the Nordics.

Evidence Based

NSLI researches best practices in leadership education, entrepreneurship, and leadership for sustainability. We conduct academic research and write on the topics of leadership for sustainability and Nordic leadership. NSLI's evidence-based findings support our leadership program design.

Partnerships for Best Practices

Working with partner institutions, mentor-leaders, and extraordinary young Americans, the Nordic Scholars program seeks to combine, cultural immersion, systems design and innovation experiential learning to engage and train a network of future U.S. leaders.
