Nordic Scholars Leadership Fellowship —  September 1-13, 2026

Our 2026 Fellowship

The Nordic Scholars Leadership Fellowship is a fully funded, immersive leadership education and training in the Nordic region for advanced undergraduates, recent graduates, and early-stage master’s students who demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and a serious commitment to leadership.

Each year, Nordic Scholars brings a small, highly selective cohort to the Nordics to engage directly with senior leaders across government, industry, academia, and civil society. Scholars examine how leadership, governance, and collaboration operate in practice while developing the judgment, self-awareness, and leadership capacity required for responsible leadership in complex environments.

The Fellowship is intentionally multidisciplinary and cohort-based. Learning takes place through a carefully designed combination of leader engagements, workshops, site visits, structured reflection, and peer dialogue. Scholars learn not only from Nordic leaders, but also from one another.

Nordic Scholars selects young leaders who already demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and meaningful leadership engagement in their communities, institutions, or fields of study.

We select young leaders still shaping their leadership perspective and preparing to assume greater responsibility in their communities and future professions.

In 2025, the program piloted with University of Washington students drawn from 12 different majors and minors. The pilot attracted a wide pool of applicants, with fewer than 9% admitted, creating a dynamic learning community of exceptional scholars.
